  • Multi-shape DNA Origami - Software Contribution

     

    Description of the software:
    Coming from a Computer Science background, we wished to make a meaningful contribution to the Bio-Molecular and DNA –Origami community in the form of a software. We felt that it would be good if we could provide the community with some kind of automation of the DNA Origami process, so that they did not have to repeat the same steps over and over while starting an assignment or a new project. Hence, the development process could be hastened. Also, the end-user would not need to worry about knowing all the designing principles and looking into the same research papers again and again, for creating the structure since the 3D structure rendered by our software already obeys all the designing principles stated in past research. Thus, a lot of time of the end-users would be saved.
    KonCAD is an interactive Computer Aided Designing software focusing on prototyping, rendering and analyzing structural details of DNA Origami structures with complex curvatures. Currently supports a Curved 2D Concentric Ring and 2D Concentric Square.
